Rakov Škocjan is a picturesque karst valley, formed by the sinking and collapsing of a cave ceiling. We visited this breathtaking place on our way home from the seaside. An education trail leads through the valley with various points of interest; from old ruins to natural sights.
Just a couple of shots of this magnificent castle, located not far from the famous Postojna Cave.
It’s been a while since I updated my journal. We adopted a dog, I changed my camera gear and we chilled at this beautiful spot by the river Sava Bohinjka.
One of those perfect autumn weekends, when everything turns golden. It seemed like everyone went hiking …
Debela peč (2014m) rises steeply above the Krma valley on one side and descends towards the vast forests of Pokljuka on the other.
Awesome weekend in Goriška Brda. Roadtrippin', visiting some wineries, eating good, drinking better.
Our second time visiting Luče and staying at House Raduha. Breznik family was happy with the photos I took in the summer and they invited us back for another treat. This time we chose a night in the hayrack.
November 2016 - the closest the Moon has been since 1948. These are a few quick morning snaps from my window and some evening shots of Mt. Triglav.

"House Raduha is located in the old centre of Luce. It got its name from the Raduha Mountain, which slopes down a ridge to the rocky threshold Breznica right at the edge of the village. The only things separating the house and the Breznica threshold is the Savinja River and our garden, which features living units in a beautiful architectural distribution.
House Raduha, known among the locals as 'pri Medetu', has been welcoming guests ever since 1875. The cooking skills of grandmothers have helped hone the mastery of granddaughters for four generations. You will rarely find such an inspired combination of tradition and modern influences as in House Raduha."

Hiking around Mangart saddle with great views all around. Mangart is Slovenia’s fourth highest mountain with a very convenient access - the Mangart road (Slovenia’s highest road). We didn't ascend the mountain itself but merely circled around the plateau. Next time we'll surely conquer it.
This day trip started when Nina purchased two zipline tickets in Bovec, so we figured we might as well make a road trip around these fascinating parts of Slovenia. We started by crossing the border to Italy since we wanted to go back in over the Predil Pass ...
We picked up our friends in Ljubljana and drove to Goriska Brda for a lovely yet rainy weekend of good food and wine. We haven't been there before, so Zan and Anamarija showed us around.
